Position: Financial Reporting Supervisor Location: Newport Beach, CA (Fully Onsite) Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Compensation: $125K to $135K base plus 10 percent annual bonus (DOE) Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with match Overview A large, well established organization is seeking a Financial Reporting Supervisor to lead a corporate accounting team within a high volume, structured environment. This role will oversee the day to day financial reporting process, manage a team of five, and play a key part in driving accuracy, process improvements, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the month end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of internal financial reporting. • Review journal entries, analyze expenses, and investigate variances or discrepancies. • Manage and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring alignment with expected activity and resolving outstanding items. • Lead, coach, and develop a team of five accounting professionals, setting clear expectations and supporting performance growth. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and support both internal and external audit requests. • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and workflow enhancements to increase efficiency. • Partner cross functionally with departments such as IT, Finance, Marketing, and Payroll to support reporting and data accuracy. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline close and reporting processes. • Support ad hoc projects and reporting needs as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting. • Prior experience preparing financial statements in a mid to large size organization. • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required. • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment. • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization. Preferred: • CPA • Experience with Oracle or similar large ERP systems. • Exposure to system implementations or process transformation initiatives.
