Job Description
This role focuses on installing, servicing, and maintaining illuminated signage systems, including LED channel letters, pylon signs, and large-scale custom signage. You will perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs in the field, interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams, and collaborate closely with installation and fabrication teams to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality projects. The position involves working at heights, operating lifts and related equipment, and traveling to local and regional job sites while maintaining a strong safety mindset and adherence to all electrical and job-site safety protocols.
Responsibilities • Install, service, and maintain illuminated signage such as LED channel letters, pylon signs, and large-scale custom signage. • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs in field environments to ensure safe and reliable operation of signage and related systems. • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications accurately to guide installation and repair work. • Collaborate with installation and fabrication teams to complete projects efficiently and in line with quality standards. • Safely operate lifts and other equipment while working at heights on various types of signage. • Perform outdoor electrical and installation work in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety and quality. • Travel to local and regional job sites as needed to complete installation, service, and maintenance work. • Apply knowledge of NEC codes and local electrical regulations to ensure compliant installations and repairs. • Install and maintain low-voltage and control wiring, including LED lighting systems and related components. • Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics using appropriate meters and tools to identify and resolve issues. • Perform preventive maintenance and service work on signage and electrical components to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. • Use mechanical aptitude and basic fabrication skills to support assembly, installation, and repair activities. • Organize job sites effectively, manage time well, and complete assigned tasks within project deadlines. • Document work performed and communicate clearly with team members and project stakeholders. • Maintain a strong safety mindset and follow all electrical, equipment, and job-site safety protocols at all times.
Essential Skills • Proficiency in electrical wiring, installation, and service work for illuminated signage and related systems. • Demonstrated ability in electrical troubleshooting and repairs in field environments. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications accurately. • Knowledge of NEC codes and local electrical regulations relevant to signage and electrical installations. • Experience with low-voltage and control wiring for LED lighting systems and similar applications. • Skill in electrical testing and diagnostics using meters and other electrical tools. • Capability to perform preventive maintenance and service work on electrical and signage equipment. • Competence in operating lifts and working safely at heights. • Mechanical aptitude and basic fabrication skills to support assembly and installation tasks. • Ability to work independently or as part of a crew, depending on project needs. • Strong time management skills and effective job-site organization. • Clear communication and documentation skills for reporting work and coordinating with team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with installation and maintenance of LED lighting systems for signage and displays. • Background in low-voltage troubleshooting and installation in commercial or field environments. • Experience with assembly and installation of large-scale custom signage or similar structures. • Familiarity with crane operations or coordination with crane operators during installations. • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions on local and regional job sites. • Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to job-site safety protocols. • Collaborative mindset and willingness to support both installation and fabrication teams.

Work Environment
You will work in a very small, clean shop environment with around ten team members, fostering close collaboration and strong communication. The role involves both shop-based work and fieldwork at local and regional job sites, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions. You will regularly operate lifts and work at heights while installing and servicing illuminated signage, using electrical testing tools, meters, and standard installation equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork, with a professional yet supportive atmosphere and practical, job-appropriate attire suited to both shop and field conditions. The pay range for this position is $93600.00 - $124800.00/yr.
