Job Description

Perform highly diversified maintenance duties/tasks, during production runtime or maintenance shutdown, which are aligned with supporting the plant process and production line while in compliance with all Metalsa safety rules. Focus will be on facilities preventative maintenance (PM) activities.

Other Essential Functions Of The Position Include The Following

• Collaborate with Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and support Maintenance team, to assure equipment availability, maximizing MTBF and minimizing MTTR. • Maintain clean and orderly (5S) working areas. • Operate powered industrial forklifts and man lifts.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Participate in all safety trainings and apply them to all tasks. • Perform tasks to recognize, identify and prevent defective equipment. • Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures. • Apply 5Ss methodology. • Participate actively in root cause analysis (using PPS). • Perform corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance. • Read and interpret manuals and work orders. • Use hand and power tools, electric meters and handling equipment. • Attend FMDS meetings and follow up on maintenance issues. • Be aware of Maintenance KPIs. • Perform other tasks as required by leadership.

**Academic and Experience Criteria**

Required

• High school diploma or GED • HVAC Technician License - (VA State) • 7-10 years experience in industrial or HVAC-related maintenance • Basic Computer Knowledge

**Knowledge**

• Safety procedures like lock out / tag out, confine space, hot works, fall protection, etc. • Understanding of hydraulics, electrical, mechanical and pneumatics. • Read and understand blueprints. • Basic math and measurement device uses (tape measure, calipers, gauges, etc.) • Basic computer knowledge • Maximo (CMMS) knowledge. • Understanding of company, policies, procedures, and union contract parameters. • Basic understanding of cell principles and functions in specified area • Know how to operate Forklift / Manlift (driver license issued by Metalsa) • Knowledge on 5Ss work standard

**Skills**

• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments. • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Managing own time. • Detect faulty operations (abnormalities) and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. • Effectively advise up the chain of command and escalate as needed. • Collaborate with the Shopfloor team and Maintenance Team • Become a troubleshoot expert on all machines in assigned area.

**Abilities**

• Comply with all safety regulations. • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. • Critically think through problems and take quick action to resolve. • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. • Oper te powered industrial forklifts and man lifts. • Maintain clean and orderly (5S) working areas. • Accurately review downtime records and escalate properly any wrong data. • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders. • Understand and follow instructions and to escalate issues as required.
