Summary: Assists with developing and leading classroom activities and developmentally appropriate programs. Responsibilities • Applies knowledge of learning principles to engage the children in appropriate activities. • Follows accreditation and licensing policies and practices. • Attends periodical staff meetings. • Supervises children to ensure safety. • Ensures classroom meets local licensing standards. • Assist teachers with course progress report procedures. • Assist the teacher with implementing the teaching schedule and curriculum. • Works collaboratively with the teacher to assess learning/development needs and to develop age appropriate learning solutions. Requirements • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) • CPR Cert American Heart (CPR AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART) • CPR Cert Red Cross (CPR RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS) • DCF 45-hour Certification (DCF CERT) - Florida Department of Childrens & Family (DCF) • Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. • Required Work Experience: Six months experience working or volunteering with children. • Requires full Level 2 Background Screening at hire and every 5 years following.
