Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead our vehicle and equipment maintenance operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a diverse fleet that includes heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance across all assets, driving operational efficiency and reducing downtime. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team of skilled technicians while implementing best practices in fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance activities for diesel vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely repairs and servicing

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment lifespan and reliability

• Oversee diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on various machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and manufacturer specifications during maintenance procedures

• Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for fleet repairs while maintaining accurate records of service history

• Lead and train a team of service technicians in mechanical repairs, electrical diagnostics, welding, fabrication, and heavy equipment operation

• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure quality parts at competitive prices and coordinate specialized repairs or inspections

Skills

• Extensive dealership experience combined with strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and industrial machinery

• Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for diagnostics and repairs

• Hands-on experience with automotive repair including transmissions, air brakes, alignments, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, welding and fabrication techniques

• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment and performing heavy lifting safely

• Knowledge of tire service procedures along with experience in assembly and equipment repair processes

• Ability to operate or oversee operation of heavy machinery including excavators, cranes or other farm/industrial equipment

• Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with internal teams or external vendors regarding maintenance needs or technical issues
