Position Responsibilities
• Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students qualifying for OT as a related service
• Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students experiencing deficits impacting academic performance
• Interpret evaluation findings and recommendations to parents, staff, and IEP teams
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy programs aligned with student IEP goals
• Provide individual and group therapy services in educational settings
• Participate as an active member of multidisciplinary and IEP teams
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, paraprofessionals, and families to support student success and classroom carryover
• Monitor student progress and modify interventions as appropriate
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, IEP goals/objectives, and required reports
• Train and support educational staff, therapy assistants, and paraprofessionals in implementing therapy strategies
• Order and maintain therapy materials and equipment while following accepted safety practices
• Stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy
• Perform additional duties as assigned by district leadership or Special Services administration
Qualifications
• Active Missouri Occupational Therapist License
• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to maintain compliant documentation and manage caseload responsibilities
• Required state and district clearances
