Overview
Labor One Staffing is seeking a Recruiter/Project Coordinator that has experience with Shipyard Crafts and Trades.
Location: Brownsville, Texas
Objective: Support the Client by Recruiting, Interviewing, and Onboarding candidates as required by the client. Will also provide HR and safety support as directed by the Client and Corporate Office.
Responsibilities
• Communications / Deliverables: Response: Will respond to all requests in a consistent and timely manner.
• Reporting: Will provide direct support to the Operations Manager in the execution of required/requested reports. Will provide the Operations Manager with a daily by uploading it on Google Docs or emailing the day’s activities and any concerns that may have developed.
• Client Engagement: Will participate in site production and safety meetings as requested/required.
• Working Relationships: Will develop, maintain and foster a positive working relationship with the leased labor workforce, the Client and the Corporate office management, team.
• Daily Topics: Terminations or resignations (including exit interview information); review of all injuries or Serious Potential Incidents; status of open positions; employee discipline issues; client requests or concerns; participation in a weekly HR, Safety and Risk alignment call to provide an update on on-site activities/projects.
• Transport of personnel to and from lodging to the worksite (if required).
• Staff: Participate and/or lead a daily staff meeting as directed by the Operations Manager to review the day’s deliverables and goals to be achieved.
• Topics: Openings, interview schedule, injuries, pending disciplinary actions, labor review, etc.
• Employee engagement: Employee interface: responsibility for leased labor workforce engagements to answer questions and provide information on safety, benefits or related topics; maintain engagement log and track follow-ups until completion.
• Reporting: Recruiting / Site Report (Weekly): ensure the Recruiting report is prepared and submitted to the client and Corporate Office by the required date/time. Ensure reports are developed and provided to the Operations Manager for review prior to submission; distribute employee reports to the Operations Manager as directed.
• Employee headcount (Filled positions, Open Positions, Total).
• Turnover (Employee name, DOH, Termination date, Reason).
• Daily recruiting via company Recruiting Software.
• Scheduled for orientation, Positions filled.
In addition, this is an addendum to the Recruitment Report to be submitted weekly. Assistance with additional reports may be required as business conditions dictate.
• Employee setup/usage: Ensure that new employees are processed appropriately and that they receive either a timecard or clock ID (IVR) and are trained on how to clock in and out based upon the system utilized.
• Client Assistance: Provide assistance to the client as directed.
• Employee Discipline: Develop disciplinary reports and ensure Incident Reports are developed per policy and delivered timely.
• Disciplinary log: Maintain the disciplinary log and note actions within 24 hours of delivery to the employee.
• Policies and procedures: Ensure client site requirements are implemented and enforced; communicate all policies, procedures, and benefits; act as primary investigator for work-related injuries; maintain personnel records per policy and client requirements.
• File Review: Perform weekly reviews of new hire files to ensure requirements are achieved.
• Screenings: Ensure all applicable employee screenings are completed (New Employees, I-9 / E-verify, Criminal and Drug Screening, Reference checks, Drug Screens, Other testing as required, Existing Employees, administration of drug testing random program).
• Unemployment: Assist in responding to unemployment inquiries as directed.
• Exit Interviews: Conduct exit interviews for employees who voluntarily leave; summarize results on the appropriate log and report weekly to the Operations Manager.
• Benefits: Communicate benefits programs and assist with questions; Health Insurance: assist with annual enrollment at the site including distribution of materials, informational sessions, and updates.
• Onboarding / Pre and Post Employment Processes: Direct onboarding program, including pre/post-application/orientation process; schedule and manage remote hiring, and ensure completion of required paperwork; provide orientation on policies and client relationship.
• Applicant Flow: Maintain Applicant Flow Logs and ensure application/posting processes follow policy.
• Employee Engagement: Assist in engagement processes, provide training as directed, and maintain related records/logs.
• Safety and Risk: Implement Labor One Staffing and Client safety and risk programs; conduct safety walk-throughs; coordinate training; investigate injuries; serve as primary contact for work-related injuries; coordinate with approved medical facilities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned, including scheduling, attendance, and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field; prior management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office Applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to work in a customer-focused team environment in a professional manner.
• Valid Driver’s License.
