CPA/ Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support a growing public accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns, conducting tax research, supporting client relationships, and assisting with the development of junior staff members. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other entities • Conduct tax research and assist with tax planning strategies to support client objectives and ensure regulatory compliance • Analyze financial information and identify potential tax issues, risks, and opportunities • Serve as a point of contact for clients by responding to tax-related questions and providing ongoing support • Assist with notices, audits, and inquiries from taxing authorities • Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance, coaching, and technical support • Maintain awareness of current tax laws, regulations, and industry developments • Support process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives, including use of tax technology and workflow tools

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 4–5+ years of experience in public accounting or tax-focused accounting environments • CPA license Required • Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns • Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software platforms • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a client-service environment
