Machine Operator

Machine Operator | Hurricane, UT The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining fabrication equipment used in the production of structural steel components. This role ensures parts are produced safely, accurately, and efficiently according to shop drawings and production schedules. The ideal candidate will support daily production by setting up and operating machinery, monitoring performance, and maintaining quality standards while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Operate fabrication equipment such as: CNC drill lines, Beam lines, Plate processors, Band saws, Punches and shears Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and work orders Measure and verify material to ensure accuracy and quality standards Load and unload raw materials using overhead cranes or forklifts Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance Monitor machine performance and report any issues to supervision Maintain production pace to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Keep work area clean and organized (5S practices) Work closely with fitters, welders, and QC inspectors to ensure smooth workflow Qualifications Previous experience in a steel fabrication shop preferred Experience operating CNC or heavy fabrication equipment is a plus Ability to read tape measures and blueprints Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements) Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (or willingness to be trained) Strong attention to detail and quality Pay $17.00 $24.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level Schedule MondayFriday | Day Shift | 5:00 AM 3:30 PM MondayFriday | Swing Shift | 3:30 PM 2:00 AM Nexeo Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Limited Life, Short-Term Disability.
