Job Purpose

An Inventory Clerk manages, tracks, and records stock levels to ensure accurate inventory data and efficient operations. Key duties include conducting regular stock counts (physical inventory), updating inventory databases, reconciling discrepancies between manual counts and computer records, receiving incoming shipments, and preparing orders to replenish materials.

Key Responsibilities and Duties • Inventory Tracking & Recording: Monitor inventory levels in real-time using software (e.g., ERP, POS systems) and maintain, adjust, and compile detailed inventory reports. • Stock Counting: Perform regular daily, weekly, or monthly cycle counts and comprehensive physical inventories to reconcile stock with computerized records. • Receiving & Shipping: Receive, unpack, inspect, and label incoming shipments, comparing them against invoices to verify accuracy, and handle returned items. • Stock Organization: Maintain organized storage areas, including shelves, racks, and bins, ensuring proper, safe storage and inventory rotation. • Replenishment: Identify, track, and be aware of material, equipment, and stock to prevent shortages. • Data Management: Enter and update product data, including locations, quantities, and SKU information.

Required Skills and Qualifications • Education: A high school diploma or GED is generally required. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data entry, inventory software, and spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel).

He/she must be able to read, write, and understand English, in addition to the items listed above, the inventory clerk may be asked to perform basic office functions including but not limited to documentation, send emails, scanning and other. He/She must know how to drive a forklift, propane and electric and cherry picker. • Physical Ability: Ability to lift, move, and shelve items (often up to 50 lbs), requiring standing, bending, and walking for long periods. • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in counting, recording, and identifying discrepancies. • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to keep workspaces orderly and manage stock efficiently.

Common Work Settings Inventory Clerks work in various work settings, including warehousing, retail, manufacturing, and often working in shipping/receiving bays or stockrooms.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
