Chief Financial Officer

Hybrid - Sacramento, CA Salary Range: $190,000–$230,000 DOE

Our client, a respected non-profit organization dedicated to advancing a meaningful and community-focused mission, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its Accounting, Finance, and Technology functions. About the Role

The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial guidance and operational oversight. The ideal candidate will possess robust budgeting and forecasting expertise and will be responsible for overseeing audits and leading a team of 9–12 direct reports. This role requires a balance of high-level strategy and day-to-day operational leadership.

Primary Responsibilities: • Lead and oversee the Accounting, Finance, and Technology departments. • Manage the organization’s budgeting and forecasting processes. • Oversee annual audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements. • Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors. • Oversee payroll operations and ensure accuracy and compliance. • Drive system improvements, including ERP utilization and system implementations. • Provide financial leadership for grant management. • Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and organizational growth.

Skills and Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years of experience as a CFO overseeing accounting, finance, and technology functions. • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CPA preferred. • Strong experience with ERP systems, system implementation, and process optimization. • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. • Experience preparing board-level financial reports. • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. • Non-profit experience and grant accounting background strongly preferred
