Shear / Turret Operator

Job Summary
The Shear/Turret Operator is responsible for operating CNC turret punch presses and shear machines to cut, punch, and form sheet metal according to specifications. This role ensures parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely while meeting quality and production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC turret punch and shear machines to process sheet metal.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely.
• Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.
• Perform basic machine adjustments, tooling changes, and offsets as needed.
• Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Maintain quality standards and report defects or equipment concerns.
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company policies.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards.
• Work collaboratively with fabrication, welding, and production teams to meet deadlines. Qualifications • Previous experience operating shear and/or turret punch machines preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience working with sheet metal in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-oriented mindset. Preferred (Not Required) • CNC machine experience (Amada, Trumpf, or similar).
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.
• Prior experience in metal fabrication or job shop environments. Work Environment • Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and sheet metal materials.
