Schedule:
Option 1: Rotational Schedule (Preferred for non-local candidates)
• The family is open to either a rotational schedule (5 days on / 5 days off, 24-hour coverage) Ideal for candidates willing to travel up to - 4 hours away.
Option 2: Split Shift Schedule (Local candidates preferred)
• Or a split schedule with one NCS working 7 days/week 12-hour day shifts and another working 7 days/week 12-hour night shifts. Best suited for candidates who live locally
Compensation & benefits: $40-$45/hr.
Start Date: 10/08/2026.

Family Overview:
A loving but busy first-time family in Waban, Newton, MA is seeking two experienced, proactive Newborn Care Specialists (NCS) to provide 24/7 care for their newborn during the early months following birth.
The family is open to either a rotational schedule (5 days on / 5 days off, 24-hour coverage) or a split schedule with one NCS working 7 days/week 12-hour day shifts and another working 7 days/week 12-hour night shifts.
As both parents will be returning to work shortly after the baby arrives, they are looking for dependable, knowledgeable caregivers who can provide consistent, high-quality support.
Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Provide attentive, nurturing, and safety-focused care for their newborn at all times
• Provide full-spectrum newborn care, including feeding (breast milk and/or formula), diapering, soothing, and maintaining consistent daily routines
• Support and track the baby’s developmental milestones, ensuring age-appropriate growth and engagement at every stage
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages healthy cognitive, emotional, and physical development
• Implement and guide healthy sleep habits, including establishing routines and supporting gentle sleep training methods as the baby matures
• Engage the baby in developmentally appropriate activities, including tummy time, sensory play, and early interaction to promote motor and cognitive skills
Manage all aspects of feeding, including:
• Preparing and warming bottles
• Sterilizing bottles, pump parts, and feeding equipment
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of all feeding supplies
• Support the transition to solid foods when age-appropriate, including introducing new foods safely, monitoring for allergies, and encouraging positive feeding habits
• Maintain detailed daily logs of feeding, sleep, diapering, and developmental observations
• Keep all baby-related items clean and organized, including:
• Nursery and sleep areas
• Baby laundry
• Toys (including regular sanitizing/sterilizing)
• Monitor the baby’s health and well-being, recognizing and responding appropriately to any concerns
• Proactively troubleshoot common newborn challenges (sleep regressions, feeding issues, fussiness, etc.) with confidence and experience
• Communicate clearly and regularly with parents, providing updates and collaborating on care approaches
Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• CPR and First-Aid certifications
• Minimum of 3–5+ years of professional newborn care experience, preferably as a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of newborn development and early infant milestones, including sleep patterns, feeding, and growth stages
• Bottle preparation and proper sterilization practices
• Supporting feeding transitions, including introducing solid foods at appropriate developmental stages
• Ability to travel (for rotational candidates living up to ~4 hours away)
• Proactive and able to work independently while also collaborating with parents
• Highly organized with the ability to maintain detailed logs and communicate clearly with parents
• Confident in handling common newborn challenges (colic, reflux, sleep regressions, feeding difficulties) with a calm, solutions-oriented approach
• Up-to-date vaccinations (Tdap, Flu, COVID-19, and Booster).
• Up-to-date Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
