Machine Operator I

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable Machine Operator, Manual Machine Operator and a Machine Operator with experience in VTL to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating production equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring quality standards and production goals are met.

A machinist is a skilled tradesperson who uses machine tools to make, repair, and modify precision metal or plastic parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. They set up and operate equipment, measure parts for accuracy, and ensure finished components meet required tolerances.

A VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) is a machine tool used to shape and cut large, heavy metal parts. It holds the workpiece on a rotating vertical table while cutting tools remove material to create precise dimensions and finishes.

Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery safely and efficiently.

• Load unfinished materials and remove finished products.

• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.

• Inspect products using measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.

• Assist with basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Record production data and completed work.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Follow all safety procedures and work instructions.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred (relevant experience may be substituted).

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and work in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting.

• Experience with lathes, CNC equipment, facers, or similar machinery.

• Experience with VTL

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work well with a team.

Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must be willing to work overtime or varying shifts when needed.
