Bookkeeper

We are partnering with a family-owned, mid-sized specialty electrical contractor on the South Shore to identify a strong Bookkeeper to join their growing team!
This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, job costing, prevailing wage payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance. This role is critical in supporting project financials, ensuring compliance with federal and FAA requirements, and maintaining overall accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
• Assist with monthly and year-end closings
• Prepare financial reports for management review
• Support overall accounting processes and internal financial controls
• Process and track change orders, including cost impacts
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate billing and documentation
• Maintain organized and up-to-date project financial records
• Ensure compliance with FAA, federal, and state requirements
• Assist with audits, payroll reviews, and compliance reporting
Qualifications:
• 5 years of bookkeeping or construction accounting experience preferred
• Experience with construction job costing
• Knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
• Familiarity with AP/AR and general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a small, team-oriented environment
Pay Range: $70,000 – 80,000 Commensurate with experience

We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our day-to-day financial operations, with a primary focus on payroll processing and client invoicing with some assistance with accounts receivable. This role helps maintain accurate financial records and ensures timely, efficient billing and payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support payroll processing, including reviewing timesheets and assisting with payroll-related inquiries.
• Prepare, issue, and distribute client invoices; ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
• Assist with resolving invoicing discrepancies or client billing questions.
• Track daily payments, apply checks, and process client payments by phone.
• Contribute to maintaining the weekly aging report and perform light collection follow-ups when needed.
• Process client onboarding items such as account applications, onboarding packets, and lien waivers.
• Respond to client requests for documents, including insurance certificates and W-9 forms.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support smooth operations and improved client experience.
• Perform additional administrative or accounting tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office and general web-based applications.
