Job Description:
Our client is looking for a seasoned Family Law Paralegal to support a team of attorneys in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-driven setting and enjoys making a meaningful impact on clients navigating challenging situations.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience working as a paralegal within family law
• Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing child support and alimony calculations
• Familiarity with tools used for support calculations (e.g., SupportCalc or similar platforms) preferred
• Exposure to local county court systems in the region is a plus
• Experience with legal document management and billing systems (such as iManage or TABS) is advantageous
• Solid understanding of family law processes, filings, and court procedures
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple active cases
• Professional, empathetic communication style with a high level of discretion
• Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day support to attorneys within the Family Law practice group
• Draft, edit, and file legal documents related to divorce, custody, and support matters
• Assist with financial analysis and preparation of support-related calculations
• Support case preparation involving division of assets and financial documentation
• Maintain and organize case files, including discovery and client records
• Track important case milestones such as court dates and filing deadlines
• Communicate with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Coordinate filings with local courts using electronic systems
• Conduct research on relevant legal topics and summarize findings for attorneys
• Assist with trial readiness, including organizing exhibits and coordinating logistics
• Utilize internal systems for document management and time/billing processes
