Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility systems and equipment to support daily operations within a cosmetic manufacturing and production environment. This role ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (including GMP), while minimizing downtime and supporting efficient production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and compressed air systems
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and building-related issues in a timely manner to avoid production disruptions
Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) according to established schedules and document all activities
Support manufacturing and packaging areas by ensuring facility systems are operating at optimal performance
Maintain cleanroom environments and assist with environmental monitoring as needed
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and inspections
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA safety standards, and company policies
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and participate in on-call rotation if required
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of spare parts and supplies
Assist with facility upgrades, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred
2+ years of facilities maintenance experience, preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environments
Skills & Knowledge:
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance
Experience working in GMP-regulated environments highly preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
