Boutique Hotel in Yonkers, NY, seeking a Banquet Manager to provide our guests with a comfortable, welcoming and excellent level of customer service in our hotel. We are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to create an exceptional customer experience for all our clients and events, ranging from corporate parties to wedding celebrations and everything in between. The Banquet Manager will lead and supervise all day-to-day banquet efforts, as well as actively participate in the execution of events. The ideal candidate will be creative and ambitious to effectively manager operations and maintenance of our banquet facility and

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction

· Maintain a willingness to go beyond the call of duty in order to ensure task completion and guest satisfaction

· Establish and maintain working relationships with all civic and industry organizations, corporate promotional contacts, strategic partners, industry influences and key community partners to maximum facility usage and exposure

· Remain current of national trends in the industry and local market changes to best serve the facility

· Represent the facility at trade shows and community events when required

· Conduct site tours/visits with potential clients when necessary

· Continuously research similar area facilities for competitive pricing, level of service, etc.

· Interacts with property staff in a professional manner; helps supervise the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of banquet team members before, during and after events.

· Conducts staff meetings and training sessions as necessary and recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate

· Ensures that banquet space is set-up and inspected for room lighting, temperature, table set up, etc. for cleanliness, attractiveness and proper laying and that service delivery is carried out according to guest expectations and Banquet Event Orders

· Conducts function review with customer; collect payments, adjusts specifications as necessary and follow up to ensure all details are correct and confirmed in a timely manner, including final payment

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

· Computer skills: personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, etc.

· Strong communication skills: writing, listening and spoken word; skilled at clearly presenting and conveying information and ideas

· Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly

· Set high standards of performance for self and others and assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks

· Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing solutions

· Note: This position requires evening and weekend work that may regularly exceed 40 hours per week, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

· Two or four-year degree in field of choice preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required

· At least five years catering/banquet experience required
