Job Title: Shop Assistant (Inventory & Equipment) Location: St. Cloud, MN Compensation: $22.00-$25.00 per hour Schedule: 1st shift | Occasional evenings/weekends as needed Job Type: Direct Hire | Full-timeAbout the Opportunity Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a respected industrial electrical and welding services provider in the St. Cloud, MN area to hire a Shop Assistant. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced with tools and inventory management. You’ll play a key role in ensuring crews are equipped with the right tools by maintaining accurate inventory and properly loading and unloading trailers.What You’ll Do as a Shop Assistant: • Load and unload tools and equipment into trailers based on detailed inventory checklists • Track and manage tool inventory on trucks, ensuring accuracy and accountability • Inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any issues • Clean, maintain, and organize the shop, yard, and equipment • Perform basic maintenance tasks, including fueling and detailing vehicles/equipment • Complete weekly equipment and inventory checklists • Assist with organizing outdoor areas, including light landscaping and snow removal • Transport materials and equipment using a company vehicle • Support safety initiatives and follow all company safety procedures

What You Need to Bring to the Shop Assistant Role: • Previous inventory control or materials tracking experience required • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment • Working knowledge of tools and equipment, including ability to recognize functionality and identify issues • Ability to work independently and stay motivated with minimal supervision • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment maintenance • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license • Basic computer skills for tracking inventory and reviewing documentation • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
