HVAC Mechanic Peabody, MA $66,000 to $83,000 per year depending on experience • * * MUST have at least 2 years of experience in HVAC and a Refrigeration license/experience Position Summary The HVAC Mechanic I is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, installations, and repairs on a wide range of residential and commercial HVAC/R equipment. This includes systems such as low-pressure commercial steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, humidification equipment, and other mechanical systems. This role works under the guidance of the HVAC Mechanic II and Building Engineer while maintaining the ability to execute tasks independently. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional overtime, weekend work, and on-call responsibilities for emergency situations. Key Responsibilities of the HVAC Mechanic • Assist HVAC Mechanic II and Building Engineer with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R systems and controls • Analyze, test, and calibrate HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal performance • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, including: • * Replacing defective components (switches, fuses, thermostats, wiring) • Charging systems with appropriate gases or fluids • Lubricating motors and bearings • Changing filters and maintaining system cleanliness • Execute work orders and assigned projects efficiently with minimal supervision • Maintain strict adherence to safety standards for personnel, equipment, and workplace • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure work meets company operational standards • Complete additional duties as assigned Qualifications of the HVAC Mechanic Education • High school diploma or equivalent required • Vocational or technical training preferred Experience & Skills • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC/R system operation and maintenance (required) • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across a variety of HVAC/R equipment • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and mechanical lifts • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system sequences • Experience working with building systems and coordinating with multiple trades • Basic computer proficiency, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) • Familiarity with Schneider Electric software is a plus (or willingness to learn) Additional Requirements • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds • Capable of prolonged standing, sitting, bending, and physical activity • Ability to pass a physical examination Work Environment & Expectations • Operates independently within established guidelines and operational objectives • No supervisory responsibilities • May be required to respond to after-hours emergencies Company DescriptionGreenKiss Staffing Solutions, Inc. brings over 30 years of industry expertise to the forefront of nationwide recruiting.
