Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a practical, experienced People & Culture (P&C) Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day HR function at our client's Indiana manufacturing facility.
This is not a traditional HR Generalist role, nor a purely strategic leadership position. Instead, it is ideal for a hands‑on HR leader who excels at balancing execution with operational oversight. You will be accountable for ensuring the P&C function runs effectively—delivering consistent support to leaders and employees, improving processes, and driving better business outcomes.
Working closely with the Chief People Officer, you will independently manage most day-to-day operations while bringing forward insights, recommendations, and solutions grounded in both HR expertise and operational realities.
This is an on‑site role (5 days per week) in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the effectiveness of People & Culture operations for the Indiana facility.
• Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure focus on high-impact work.
• Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning and staffing.
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and agency/vendor performance.
• Manage employee benefits programs and vendor relationships.
• Oversee attendance, leave, and accommodation programs.
• Provide guidance on employee relations and lead complex cases.
• Ensure accuracy of HR systems, payroll support, and data reporting.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies.
• Lead and develop local P&C team members.
What Success Looks Like
• Trusted P&C lead for the Indiana facility.
• Improved structure, accountability, and operational effectiveness.
• Strong relationships with plant leadership and employees.
• Enhanced processes, service levels, and employee experience.
• Proactive identification and mitigation of risks.
Qualifications
• 5–10+ years of HR/P&C experience, including operations or management roles.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments preferred.
• Strong experience across employee relations, staffing, benefits, and HR operations.
• Proven ability to independently manage HR operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Compensation
$110,000 – $120,000 USD base salary plus annual incentive and ~10% bonus.
