Food and Nutrition Specialist

Our client, a dedicated organization in the education and food service industry, is seeking a Food and Nutrition Specialist to join their team. As a Food and Nutrition Specialist, you will be part of the School Nutrition Department supporting the school community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to food safety and quality, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Food and Nutrition Specialist Location: Waco, TX Pay Range: $16.44/hr Shift: 7am - 230pm What's the Job? • Prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements. • Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices. • Serve food according to meal schedules, departmental policies, and procedures. • Practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers. • Maintain a clean and organized storage area, ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met. What's Needed? • Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions. • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures. • Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools safely. • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. • Willingness to work in cold environments such as walk-in freezers and coolers.
