Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a hybrid DB2 Database Administrator in Austin, Tx . In this position, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining DB2 database systems to ensure they are secure, reliable, and performing efficiently.

Major duties

• Administer and support DB2 databases in a production environment • Monitor and optimize database performance and reliability • Perform backups, recovery, and disaster recovery activities • Support databases on AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms • Develop shell scripts for automation and maintenance • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues • Ensure database security and compliance, including DB2 licensing • Collaborate with IT teams to support applications and system changes • Provide occasional after-hours support as needed

What are we looking for?

• 8+ years of experience with DB2 Databases • 8+ years of experience with DB2 licensing/passport advantage. Must be proficient in managing IBM software licenses and the Passport Advantage portal. • 2+ years of hands-on experience with AIX, UNIX, or Linux platforms. • Ability to write and maintain Shell scripts for database task automation. • 5 years specifically managing DB2 on AIX is highly preferred.
