Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities within an Oilfield Services environment. This role requires a strong understanding of operational accounting, cost tracking, and GAAP compliance, while partnering closely with operations and leadership. The position offers a hybrid work structure with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules • Lead and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes • Ensure accurate revenue and cost recognition in accordance with GAAP • Analyze operational and project-related costs; support margin analysis • Review balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures • Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements • Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams to provide financial insights • Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required) • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience • Prior experience in Oilfield Services or energy-related industries (preferred) • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar) • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas) • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, operational environment

Preferred Skills & Experience • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred (not required) • Experience with cost accounting, inventory, or project-based accounting • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments • Experience working in a hybrid or collaborative team setting
