A growing manufacturing organization in Orchard Park, NY is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This full‑time position offers a salary range of $70,000–$75,000, depending on experience, along with excellent healthcare benefits, a 401(k) with profit sharing, and unlimited PTO.
This Senior Accountant role is being created to support a Controller and CFO who are looking to gradually transition key accounting responsibilities to a capable accounting professional. Initially, the position will focus on core accounting functions, reconciliations, month‑end close support, and financial reporting. Over time, there will be significant opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow within the organization.
The ideal Senior Accountant candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to build a long‑term career within a stable company that continues to invest in growth and modernization.
This is an onsite position in Orchard Park, NY.
Responsibilities General Ledger & Month‑End Close
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
Maintain organized and audit‑ready financial records
Assist with financial reporting and analysis for leadership
Support sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements
Help document and improve accounting procedures and workflows
Operational Accounting Support
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
Review coding, approvals, and transaction accuracy
Monitor aging schedules and assist with follow‑up activities
Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
3+ years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and reconciliations
Experience supporting month‑end close processes
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Manufacturing or industrial industry experience is helpful but not required
