## About This Opportunity
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Petro/Chem First Class Pipefitters for a project located in or around Norfolk, VA. This is a first shift position, and the pay rate is up to $39.50/hour based on your experience and skill level. ## What You'll Be Doing
Your daily work will involve fitting carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping. You'll handle end prep piping both by hand and with equipment like Wach or Portsmouth machines. Installing pipe hangers, prepping and fitting up backing rings, and hand prepping V bevels are core parts of the role. You'll also be cutting and breaking pipe with a grinder, bending pipe from templates using hand benders, fitting welded sockets, and fitting brazed joints with or without insert rings. Additional tasks will be assigned as needed to keep the project moving forward.
## What We're Looking For
You'll need 3+ years of experience as a marine, commercial, nuclear, or petro/chem First Class Pipefitter. Beyond that experience requirement, you must be able to read and interpret ship piping drawings and have hands-on experience fabricating various details and assemblies from drawings. A practical skill we require is the ability to read a ruler using inches and tenths—precision matters in this work.
