Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist / Demand Planner to join our client's eam. This dual-role position involves ensuring accurate inventory management and effective demand planning to support the company’s operational and financial goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory control, demand forecasting, and supply chain management, with a strong ability to analyze data and collaborate across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control:

• Audit Inventory: Regularly audit inventory to ensure systems are balanced during daily order processing. • Issue Resolution: Research and resolve inventory issues, adjustments, and discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures. • Maintain Accuracy: Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by completing follow-ups on previous adjustments and conducting cycle counts. • Cycle Counts: Perform daily cycle counts, weekly supply counts, and weekly transfer checks to ensure inventory accuracy. • Data Tracking: Track and record inventory data and present reports to various departments. • Quality Checks: Receive products from vendors, check for quality, and communicate potential quality issues to buyers. • Physical Requirements: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as necessary. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies and procedures. • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Demand Planning:

• Manage Buys Report: Oversee and maintain the Buys report to ensure alignment with inventory and sales goals. • Forecasting: Manage monthly forecasts and buy planning, including demand forecasting at department, category, style, product, and size levels. • Order Management: Handle purchase orders and invoice management, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. • Collaboration: Work with marketing, sales, and finance teams to understand marketing programs, new product introductions, pricing changes, promotions, and events. • Consensus Process: Lead the monthly consensus process to develop forecasts that meet supply chain service and inventory goals, and create monthly financial forecasts. • Forecast Accuracy: Track and analyze forecast errors, identifying contributing factors and adjusting item and warehouse levels as needed. • Analysis: Perform brand and item mix analysis, providing insights for volume discussions and forecasting accuracy. • Expertise: Develop expertise in volume trends, consumption, and industry dynamics. • Supply Planning Partnership: Collaborate with supply planning to understand supply chain implications of forecast changes. • Forecasting System: Update and maintain a 2-year forecast in the forecasting system used for manufacturing and deployment planning. • Process Improvement: Continuously improve the forecasting process to minimize errors and enhance accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Generally 2-5 years of relevant experience in inventory control and/or demand planning. • Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management and demand forecasting. • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate findings clearly. • Technical Proficiency: Experience with forecasting systems and inventory management software. • Physical Capability: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
