Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting
Our client, a rapidly growing technology company, is seeking a Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting to help scale and mature its revenue function.
Location:
San Francisco, CA. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 2 days/week in the office.
Job Description:
This role will serve as a key leader within accounting, partnering cross-functionally to support new offerings, strengthen order-to-cash processes, and ensure accurate and compliant revenue recognition. The ideal candidate brings deep revenue accounting expertise, a process-improvement mindset, and experience leading teams in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead revenue accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition across multiple products and services
• Own and continuously improve revenue-related close processes, with a focus on efficiency and scalability
• Evaluate accounting implications of new offerings and support compliant operational implementation
• Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner cross-functionally with sales, product, legal, and engineering teams on contract structures and revenue impacts
• Drive process improvement initiatives, including automation and workflow enhancements
• Manage interactions with external auditors related to revenue accounting matters
• Lead and develop team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support as the function scales
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
• 8+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting
• Deep understanding of revenue recognition principles and order-to-cash processes
• Prior people management experience with a track record of developing talent
• Experience leveraging AI to automate workflows
• Experience operating in a controlled or audit-ready environment
