Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
This full-time, on-site role is based in Overland Park, KS and focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities within a printing press shop environment. Working a day shift Monday through Friday, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment and both buildings.
Responsibilities • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs. • Execute maintenance and repair tasks on printing and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality. • Conduct industrial maintenance activities to keep all equipment, utilities, and support systems operating safely and efficiently. • Maintain building systems and perform general building maintenance to keep both facilities operational and in good condition. • Read and interpret schematics and technical documentation to diagnose issues and plan repairs. • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, assess the situation, and complete repairs in a timely and safe manner. • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support maintenance planning and compliance. • Collaborate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to operations. • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely when needed to support maintenance tasks. • Support coverage for other shifts or vacations and work overtime as needed to maintain continuous operation of the facility.
Essential Skills • Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and industrial maintenance. • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. • Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices and scheduling. • Mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance repair of industrial or production equipment. • Knowledge of electrical systems and components used in industrial environments. • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics. • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams. • Experience with building maintenance and facility systems. • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications • Relevant technical certifications or a technical degree in a related field is a plus. • Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience. • Experience in the printing industry is an advantage. • Familiarity with HVAC systems in an industrial or production setting. • Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical aspects of equipment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a printing press shop environment that is climate controlled, organized, and relaxed. You will work primarily on-site during an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with flexibility on start time between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Some overtime and occasional coverage for other shifts or vacations may be required. The facility houses industrial printing and related equipment, and you will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
