6 Month Contract to Hire (Full benefits included on contract)

Pay Rate: $55-$74/hr.

Hybrid: 3-4x in office (Charlotte or Raleigh, NC)

Required Skills & Experience

- 2-Year Degree in Engineering-related course

- 7-10 years of industry related experience, preferably in a management role

- 3+ years of management experience over a team of designers

- Extensive experience in BIM / multi-discipline design and development of construction documents

- Clash detection & monitoring experience

- Extensive experience with project planning and execution experience

- Familiarity with Industry CAD standards and industry codes

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience creating and maintaining a BIM Execution Plan (BIMxP / BEP)

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a BIM Model Manager to support a large engineering client in either Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina. This individual will join the team that is heavily supporting data center projects and will manage a team of design professionals, working directly with the Project Manager, to execute all project production activities to accomplish a design from the project planning phase thru Construction. The Model Manager, working with the Project Manager, is responsible for creating and maintaining a BIM Execution Plan (BIMxP) that is coordinated with the project Scope.

When multiple consultants are on the project team, it is required that each consultant have a Model Manager. The Model Manager for the Lead Design Firm will act in the overall project leadership role. Each Model Manager is responsible for facilitating and enforcing the BIM protocols established for each of the following:

• Model management administration and maintenance

• Model origin, coordinate system, and units

• Template and workspace management

• Document management

• Project design collaboration

• BIM Uses (E.g., Design Review, Clash Detection, etc.)

• Level of Development (LOD)

• Submission and exchange of models

• Quality control

• Model archives

Model Manager is required to have excellent leadership and organizational skills. Because of the amount of coordination necessary between multiple consultants, disciplines and project team members, excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. This individual must be technically competent in the BIM software used to produce the project and BIM practices identified to perform the tasks outlined for this role.
