Job Description
Palmer Staffing is excited to announce an opportunity for an Investigation Specialist to join a government educational agency. This position is a 12-month contract, with the possibility for extension, starting within 2-3 weeks following a drug test and background check. The role involves: • 60-70% of your time will be dedicated to fieldwork, including interviews with students, staff, and parents, as well as evidence collection in schools. • 30-40% will be spent in the office, analyzing collected information, reconciling it with existing policies, and providing written recommendations. • This position requires 2 mandatory in-office days, 1 virtual day, and 2 field days each week.
Compensation: $35/hour.

Job Requirements: • A Master’s degree or higher is required. • Strong knowledge of claims processing, investigation legislation, federal and state policy, and compliance is essential. • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the urban education sector. • Selected applicants will undergo training in Title IX, Title II, and Title VI, if not already trained, to be completed within the first two weeks.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement investigative plans. • Research, identify, and review relevant policies and regulations. • Gather and assess evidence, including video footage and social media content. • Conduct interviews with relevant parties, either in person or via Zoom/Teams. • Perform fact-finding analysis and assess the credibility of information. • Prepare investigative reports that include thorough analysis and accurate legal citation. • Collaborate with team members, general counsel, and stakeholders to support investigations. • Incorporate feedback and make necessary edits to reports. • Facilitate the implementation of corrective actions. • Adhere to standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines, ensuring case closures within a thirty-day timeline. • Participate in regular discussions with the Director and Manager regarding priorities and timelines. • Establish efficient processes for organizing project resources and maintaining documentation. • Be available during core working hours and attend team meetings as requested. • Utilize the data system to document all case management activities in accordance with SOPs. • Uphold confidentiality standards as an impartial investigator and seek guidance from the Director or Manager when needed.
