We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Federal Way, Washington. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in handling complex accounting tasks and ensures accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in corporate tax and general ledger accounting, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

Responsibilities: • Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines. • Manage sales tax reporting and reconciliation, maintaining accuracy and adherence to state requirements. • Record and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records. • Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accurate account balances and resolving discrepancies. • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support business decision-making. • Perform account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies. • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial activities are completed on schedule. • Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting operations. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance. • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting processes. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger activities. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools. • Ability to perform accurate account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining financial accuracy. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
