SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT

We are recruiting on behalf of a mid-sized, well-established Atlanta-based manufacturing company in search of a Senior Cost Accountant. They offer stability, great culture, competitive compensation and benefits, and hybrid flexibility.

The Senior Cost Accountant will play a critical role within the finance team, partnering closely with operations and leadership to drive accurate cost reporting and actionable insights. This individual will take ownership of standard costing, bill of materials analysis, and inventory accounting within a manufacturing setting. Key responsibilities include analyzing production costs and variances, maintaining integrity between the general ledger and inventory subledger, and supporting month-end close activities. The role will also contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and support audit requirements. This position offers strong visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence cost efficiency initiatives and operational decision-making.

The right candidate for this Senior Cost Accountant role will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • 4-6+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment • Hands-on experience with standard costing, bill of materials, inventory accounting, and variance/PPV analysis • Background working in a large ERP system • Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities • Solid understanding of general ledger processes and account reconciliations • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a dynamic environment • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally • CPA or CMA designation helpful, but not required
