Position Summary
The Branch Operations Support Specialist provides operational support to branch teams to ensure efficient, compliant banking operations. This role serves as a key resource for branch staff by answering operational questions, assisting with transactions and account maintenance, reviewing documentation, and supporting compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Depending on experience level, this role may also assist with system issue monitoring, process improvements, staff training, and escalation of complex operational matters.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day operational support to branch personnel
Assist with teller transactions, account maintenance, stop payments, cashier’s checks, and safe deposit box activity
Support new account documentation and consumer/business account setup
Review branch certifications and operational controls
Research and resolve discrepancies, including reconciliations and system issues
Respond to branch inquiries via phone and email in a timely manner
Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation
Provide guidance to branch staff on policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Maintain knowledge of BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, CRA, and other banking regulations
Qualifications
Level I
2–3 years of branch operations experience in a bank or credit union
Level II
3–5 years of branch operations experience
Strong knowledge of branch operations and banking products
Level III
5+ years of branch operations experience
Advanced knowledge of banking operations, compliance, and documentation
Skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
