Kforce has a client in Englewood, CO that is seeking a highly experienced Adobe Commerce Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support the migration of an existing Adobe Commerce Private Cloud environment to Adobe Commerce on Public Cloud infrastructure. The SME will provide deep technical expertise, architectural guidance, and hands-on support to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performance migration aligned with Adobe best practices and enterprise cloud standards.Key Responsibilities: • Assess the current Adobe Commerce Private Cloud architecture, customizations, extensions, integrations, and operational processes • Define the target-state architecture for Adobe Commerce on Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP as applicable) • Create and validate migration strategies, including phased vs. big-bang approaches • Identify technical risks, constraints, and mitigation plans related to public cloud adoption • Serve as the primary SME for Adobe Commerce (Magento), including core platform, modules, and extensions • Provide guidance on compatibility, refactoring, or replacement of custom code and third-party extensions • Ensure alignment with Adobe Commerce cloud-native best practices, security standards, and performance benchmarks • Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline design, cloud environment setup, and release automation • Guide teams on containerization, scaling, caching (Varnish, Redis), search (OpenSearch/Elasticsearch), and CDN usage • Ensure compliance with security standards (PCI DSS, data privacy, Adobe security requirements) • Guide implementation of IAM, secrets management, encryption, and secure network configurations • Define and support end-to-end testing strategies, including functional, integration, performance, and UAT testing • Support migration execution, cutover planning, rollback strategies, and go-live readiness • 7+ years of experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) in enterprise environments • Proven experience migrating Adobe Commerce between hosting models, preferably Private Cloud to Public Cloud • Strong understanding of Adobe Commerce Cloud architecture and deployment models • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Expertise in PHP, Magento frameworks, MySQL, Redis, Varnish, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure automation • Prior role as a Solution Architect, Lead Engineer, or Platform SME for Adobe Commerce • Experience working in large-scale, high-availability eCommerce environments • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, security, and business teams Preferred Qualifications: • Adobe Commerce certifications (Professional, Expert, or Master) • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud integrations • Strong background in performance optimization and high-traffic eCommerce platforms • Experience supporting PCI-compliant environments • Consulting experience or prior migration program leadership The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
