Job Description This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for an Industrial Hygiene / HAZMAT Project Manager for our New York City, NY office. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical services by performing investigations, monitoring, and sampling of lead and asbestos related materials for our clients. The candidate will also support industrial hygiene projects such as indoor air quality assessments, mold investigations, and health and safety plan development. Our work is performed in the immediate NYC area, including all 5 boroughs, Westchester and Long Island. Your Impact • Manage technician level employees. • Asbestos and/or lead abatement monitoring and investigations. • The position entails frequent travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester & Long Island. • Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Assessments, i.e. mold, IAQ, chemical assessments. • Perform professional environmental science work and conduct investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs. • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record are a must. • Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to address, prevent, control, or restore environmental problems. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Assist with the development and scoping of medium-sized projects. • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner. • Conduct research as appropriate and assist with proposal development. • Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. • Remain current in the latest environmental science subject matter and techniques. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
