Lead Cybersecurity Engineer
Our client, a leading wealth management firm serving high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, is seeking a Lead Security Architecture & Engineering to design and scale a modern, enterprise-wide security framework. This role will be instrumental in embedding security across cloud, infrastructure, and application environments while enabling innovation in a highly regulated environment. What You’ll Do in This Impactful Role • Design and implement scalable security architectures across identity, cloud, application, and network domains • Translate security policies into reusable technical design patterns and standardized control frameworks • Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to embed security into design and development lifecycles • Develop infrastructure-as-code templates, secure baselines, and automation pipelines to enforce security consistency • Engineer secure cloud configurations and access models across Azure, Microsoft 365, and SaaS platforms • Implement authentication and authorization frameworks (MFA, SAML, OAuth) • Strengthen identity lifecycle management and enforce least-privilege and conditional access principles • Design and implement data protection, encryption, and compliance controls in cloud environments • Design secure network architectures across hybrid and cloud environments • Implement segmentation, zero-trust access models, and next-generation firewall policies • Partner with network engineering to deliver secure remote access solutions (ZTNA, SD-WAN, SASE) • Integrate endpoint and network security controls into automated provisioning frameworks • Develop and deploy automation for security configuration, compliance validation, and control testing • Integrate security tooling and telemetry into CI/CD pipelines for continuous assurance • Streamline security operations using scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.) • Contribute to architecture reviews, documentation, and cross-team knowledge sharing • Provide mentorship and guidance on security best practices to engineering and IT teams • Align security engineering priorities with business and technology leadership objectives What We’re Looking For • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, architecture, or related roles • Background in financial services or other regulated industries strongly preferred • Deep expertise in Microsoft enterprise technologies (Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows environments) • Strong familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO • Hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise security controls (IAM, EDR, DLP, IGA, SOAR, SIEM, CASB, SWG, ZTNA, NGFW) • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell) and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) • Proven ability to design scalable, automated security solutions across complex environments Skills & Competencies • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a structured, detail-oriented approach • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment • Self-directed and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership • Clear and effective communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders • Comfort operating at both strategic and hands-on levels within a lean team Why This Role • Opportunity to define and scale a modern security architecture in a growing organization • High visibility across technology and executive leadership • Work at the forefront of cloud, identity, and zero-trust security transformation • Influence security strategy in a complex, multi-platform environment • Be part of a firm focused on innovation, risk management, and long-term growth
